The suburb

Kilburn sits either side of Churchill Road, about eight kilometres north of the city and a street or two from our own office in Blair Athol. Most of the housing is post-war: solid brick and rendered homes on blocks wide enough to build two, which is exactly what has been happening as older stock is replaced with courtyard homes and townhouses.

It is a working suburb with the Islington rail yards and light industry along its edge, and it prices accordingly, which is why investors look here first for yield this close to the city. We lease and manage in these streets, and the suburb’s renewal is visible block by block.
