Am I committing to anything?
No. You are not signing an agency agreement and you are under no obligation to list with us. Plenty of people appraise years before they sell.
How long does it take?
The visit is usually 30 to 45 minutes. You get the appraisal in writing after it, not a number guessed at the door.
Do you need to come inside?
For an accurate figure, yes. Condition, layout and light are exactly the things a desktop estimate cannot see, and they move the number most.
What if I only want a rough idea?

Is a property appraisal the same as a valuation?
No. An appraisal is an agent’s opinion of what your home would sell for now, and it is free. A valuation is a formal report by a licensed valuer that a bank, court or the tax office relies on, and it is paid. Our guide to house valuations in Adelaide explains which you need.
How is a house appraisal worked out?
From recent comparable sales near you, adjusted for your home’s land, layout, condition and street, and for what buyers are doing in the suburb this month. You get a range rather than one number, with the sales behind it.
How accurate is an online estimate compared with an appraisal?
An online estimate is worked out from sales across a wide area and cannot see inside your home. An appraisal is done by someone who has walked through it and knows who is buying in your street, so it is the figure to plan a sale around.
