Para Vista sits between Ingle Farm and Modbury, about thirteen kilometres north-east of the city in the City of Salisbury. Wright Road runs along its southern edge and Montague, Nelson and Milne Roads along its northern one, with Para Hills above it and Valley View below.
Its post office opened in 1964 and was renamed Valley View before the year was out, and the two suburbs still run into each other along Wright Road. Westfield Tea Tree Plaza, the Ingle Farm shops and the O-Bahn at Modbury are all a short drive away.
