Mansfield Park sits about nine kilometres north-west of the city in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, bounded by Grand Junction Road to the north and Hanson Road to the west. It was mostly pasture until the post-war boom of the 1950s, when much of it was built by the South Australian Housing Trust, and it takes its name from Mansfield in Ayrshire, Scotland.
Since 2001 the Westwood urban renewal project has replaced many of the old Trust homes with private houses and townhouses, so older and new homes now share the same streets. The Parks Community Centre, just over the boundary in Angle Park, has a pool, gym and health centre.
